Job Description

CoWorx Staffing Services is seeking an energetic Compound Lead to join our team. The Compound Hand Mix Team Lead will assist the Production Supervisor in the overall operation of the Compound Department to ensure continuous flow and on time delivery of product to the customer. The Team Lead will supervise and coordinate employees to perform at the highest quality and lowest cost within a build to order/build to stock manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure regulatory and safety compliance for all processes related to and supporting the production area.

  • Management skills as necessary to manage approximately 10 employees.

  • Supervise the activities and personnel engaged in manufacturing of products within their assigned department and shift.

  • Engage employees in continuous improvement, safety, and quality activities.

  • Reads and understands specifications written on compound formulations for urethane process such as pressures, temperatures, demold time, gel time and post cure conditions.

  • Review each shop orders for each task and assign to employees. Special instructions are conveyed at this time as necessary.

  • Develop, direct, and manage manufacturing personnel and train them to properly utilize all equipment and tools.

  • Achieve departmental, plant, and corporate goals for safety, quality and productivity.

  • Must be able to read blueprints for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances.

  • Hand mixer must be able to blend resins and curatives accordingly to compound formula.

  • Knowledge of pressure vessels and heating tables.

  • Knowledge of inspection tools such as durometers, calipers and thermometers

  • Able to lift 50 pounds.

  • Identify any change on the resin N.C.O. and notify the supervisor to adjust the formula.
