 Whelen Engineering Maintenance Tech. Position- Work 3 days/Off for 4!

**IMMEDIATE OPENING for a Maintenance Tech in the NEW Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Division of Whelen Engineering** Be a part of a break-through in manufacturing in a world class, innovative facility!

Whelen Engineering is seeking Maintenance Tech to work Fri/Sat/Sun 12-hour shifts.  This is a DIRECT HIRE POSITION offering great pay and incentives. Paid holidays, paid vacation and so much more!

The ideal candidate will possess these skills and experience:

  • Trained electrician
  • 2 year degree or higher
  • Previous work experience in a fabrication setting
  • Previous experience or familiarity with industrial machines, high-speed conveyors and automation

SUMMARY

Responsible for all of the repair and preventative maintenance activities as assigned on the shift.  Also, responsible for providing coverage of manufacturing operations as needed. and operation of the wastewater and environmental control systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned

-Perform routine preventative maintenance.  Calibration and repairs on a wide variety of PCB manufacturing equipment

-Perform equipment installation, development and optimization projects as assigned

-Respond to maintenance tasks as assigned.  Assignments are made Via the PCB FAB exception system. Truechem or by verbal Instruction. It is also expected that the person in this role is able to identify problems on their own for resolution. Determines the cause of the problem using a logical approach (e.g. faulty pump. broken gears. leaking pipe. bent shaft. Etc.

-Obtains from stock or through purchasing the materials required to perform the repair/project

Performs the actual repair in accordance with established procedures in the SOP.  This individual is expected to contribute to the development or procedures to achieve the requisite Outcomes

-Uses available tools and identifies/enters purchasing reqs for tools if hand tools are insufficient to complete task assignments

Assists outside vendors and process engineers on specifications.

-Assists other department personnel on more complex PMS or repairs.  Performs equipment assembly, positioning. and testing.

Maintains tools and parts inventories

-Operates the wastewater treatment and other environmental systems and performs chemical maintenance procedures  Generates purchase requisitions to obtain equipment/supplies and/or replenish Inventory as required.  Completes various department paperwork: such as daily sheets, purchase requisitions, add to stock forms, PM sheets, MRO's, etc.

Follows the facilities and departments safety rules: utilizes proper personal protective equipment (eye protection, safety shoes. etc.) and reports safety hazards and incidents to supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability needed

-Ability to read and comprehend written instructions (work orders, blue prints. equipment specs, etc.). Familiar with basic plumbing techniques for PP, PVC, CPVC, SS, black iron and copper

-Familiar with electrical wiring and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical Systems.

Familiar with PLC/HMI/PC control systems.

-Should he able to fabricate simple parts

-Familiar with the use of various test equipment such as micrometers, veneers, oscilloscopes

-Knowledgeable in the safe use and care of hand/power tools, shop equipment and soldering techniques.

-Be able to perform replacement of mechanical assemblies which require precision alignment

-Knowledgeable in troubleshooting and repair/maintaining pneumatic, hydraulic, heating and cooling systems. 

-Good communication and analytical skills

-Ability to provide effective documented corrective action(s), and resolve/prevent recurring quality problems

-Ability to lift 70 lbs./32kg.
