Mold Maintenance Technician Whelen Engineering

Whelen Engineering – a leader in the emergency warning industry - has been trusted to perform since 1952. To manage the recruiting and hiring program, CoWorx Staffing has a dedicated team located directly onsite at the Whelen campus in Charlestown, NH.

CoWorx Staffing and Whelen Engineering are seeking a 2nd or 3rd Shift Mold Maintenance Technician.  This is a temp to hire opportunity offering competitive pay, paid holidays, vacations and so much more!

The mold maintenance technician journeyman works to repair and maintain injection molds in a fast-paced machine shop environment by:

•       Disassembly, maintenance and basic repair of plastic injection molds.

•       Inspection of molds for damage during preventative maintenance                                          

             Polishing of molds as required

•       Use of hand tools for careful disassembly/reassembly of molds

•       Problem solving/troubleshooting

•       Operation of fork lift to retrieve/replace molds in rack

Inspection of mold hydraulic systems

•       Inspection of heated sprue systems

•       Operation of pin cut off machine to an accuracy of +/-.OOI'

•       Knowledge of Whelen mold data tracking

•       Advises superiors of time requirements for job completion

•       Other duties as required

Job Requirements


•       Basic level of knowledge in machine shop practice o Use of measurement equipment to include micrometers and calipers o Shop safety and practices including the use of hand tools o Blueprint reading

•       Problem solving skills

•       Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

•       Mechanical aptitude/motivated attitude
